How does your waqf share provide food aid around the world?

  • You donate a £100 share to waqf, you always get to choose where you want the profit created to go. Whatever sector you choose, we honour that forever.
  • We pool your donations with other supporters’ and collectively you purchase in a Sharia-compliant investment, in this case a low-risk property.
  • Each year, 80% of profits go towards food aid projects such as hot meals, food parcels, or bread deliveries to families in emergency.
  • 10% is reinvested into a property to create more income and impact, and 10% is used to maintain your waqf.

Hot meals, prepared with fresh local ingredients and require no cooking, ideal for crises

Treatment for child malnutrition.

Why direct your waqf to food aid?

Across the world, the scale and number of emergencies have overwhelmed communities. More than 18 million people are going hungry with acute food insecurity and more than 5 million people are just 1 step away from famine. 700,000 children are severely malnourished, and 90% of people in conflict zones rely entirely on humanitarian aid.

Donating you waqf to our food aid projects ensures that you continue to help families struggling simply to eat. Every year, your waqf investment will provide them with nourishing food.

“We will likely see a famine that we haven’t seen in decades”

41-year-old Garang was forced to flee his home with his wife and five children when his home was torched by a militia. They’re taking shelter at a camp for displaced people in North Dafur, Sudan. Sometimes they go three days without eating. He watched helplessly as his wife and children try to quell the hunger by rolling soil from the ground with water and eat it.

Anette Hoffmann, of the Clingendael thinktank said, “Sudan’s war has created the world’s largest hunger crisis…we will likely see a famine that we haven’t seen in decades.”

Help us to fight malnutrition and support families enduring extreme hunger by investing your waqf to provide food aid.
