How it works
When you donate a waqf share today, it is pooled in a Sharia-compliant fund. Within one year of your donation, your waqf share generates profit will go towards food aid projects such as hot meals, food parcels, or bread deliveries to families in crisis. We purchase an asset that will provide profit, but even before your asset is purchased, your waqf share gets to work. Since our inception in 2023, we’ve purchased three properties and we aim to continue purchasing.

We pool and invest your donation, earning an average 7% yearly return
Each year
Each year, 80% of profits go towards emergency aid projects such as food, clean water, shelter to families in crisis.
Reinvestment
10% is reinvested into a property to create more income and impact, and 10% is used to maintain your waqf.

Why direct your waqf to food aid?
Across the world, the scale and number of emergencies have overwhelmed communities. More than 18 million people are going hungry with acute food insecurity and more than 5 million people are just 1 step away from famine. 700,000 children are severely malnourished, and 90% of people in conflict zones rely entirely on humanitarian aid.
Donating you waqf to our food aid projects ensures that you continue to help families struggling simply to eat. Every year, your waqf investment will provide them with nourishing food.
What food aid will I provide?
Our projects are delivered in partnership with Human Appeal who have over 30 years’ experience and deliver aid in over 25 countries. Their food projects currently include:
Nourishing food parcels to last a family a month, containing beans, flour, sugar, rice, oil, and pasta.
Bread parcels, usually delivered weekly for several months, providing a secure source of food.
Hot meals, prepared with fresh local ingredients and require no cooking, ideal for crises
Treatment for child malnutrition.
