How it works
When you donate a waqf share today, it is pooled in a Sharia-compliant fund. Within one year of your donation, your waqf share generates profit to help provide education projects such as school construction, classroom equipment, or psychosocial support. We purchase an asset that will provide profit, but even before your asset is purchased, your waqf share gets to work. Since our inception in 2023, we’ve purchased three properties and we aim to continue purchasing.

Investment
We pool and invest your donation, earning an average 7% yearly return
Each year
Each year, 80% of profits go towards education projects such as school construction, classroom equipment, or psychosocial support.
Reinvestment
10% is reinvested into a property to create more income and impact, and 10% is used to maintain your waqf.
Wyclif Kukiriza was just ten years old when his father walked away, his mother Deborah was left to raise three children alone. They moved to a poor suburb of Kampala, Uganda. Every day, Deborah washed clothes and sold second-hand shoes to feed her family.
Wyclif had been the family’s hope, a bright child who once dreamed of becoming a doctor. But when they moved, there was no government school in the area. The only nearby school charged more than Deborah could ever earn.
So Wyclif stayed home. Instead of carrying books, he carried water.

What education projects will I provide?
Our projects are delivered in partnership with Human Appeal who have over 30 years’ experience and deliver aid in over 25 countries. Their education projects include:

Nourishing school meals to support attendance
Education sponsorships (fees, transport, books, uniforms)
School construction and renovation
Furnishing classrooms with desks and whiteboards
Playgrounds and sports kits
IT equipment
Mobile schools in displacement camps
Psychosocial support for children affected by war
Training for teachers and school staff
Why direct your waqf to education projects?
Globally, 244 million children are not in school, including 129 million girls, and one in every six children in low-income countries will never finish primary school.
Millions of children learn in unsafe, unfurnished buildings without enough equipment for each child, and for many children school is the only place they get a regular, reliable meal.
In some communities, it can take six hours each day to fetch water, which is typically done by mothers and their children; this is time that could be spent earning an income, caring for children or getting an education.
Donating you waqf to our education projects ensures that you continue to help vulnerable children to have access to education for years to come.
