How it works
When you donate a waqf share today, it is immediately pooled in a Sharia-compliant fund. Within one year of your donation, your waqf share generates profit that go towards healthcare projects such as providing hospitals, medicines, surgeries, and medical equipment. We purchase an asset that will provide profit, but even before your asset is purchased, your waqf share gets to work. Since our inception in 2023, we’ve purchased two properties and we aim to continue purchasing.

“Hospitals without medicine, clinics without staff, and patients who arrive only to be turned away.”
Twenty-one-year-old Srushti Shinde was bitten by a stray dog near her home in Lucknow. The local clinic had no rabies vaccine in stock, so she was told to come back later. Days passed. By the time she was taken to a hospital, it was too late.
Rabies is one of the world’s most preventable diseases — a simple, inexpensive vaccine can save a life. Yet, across India and other low-income countries, countless families face the same heartbreak.
“8.6 million people die every year — not because they couldn’t be treated, but because they weren’t.”
The Lancet Global Health Commission

Why direct your waqf to healthcare?
Across the world, 3.6 million people die each year from a lack of access to basic medical care and over 2 billion people don’t have access to essential medicines. One in every two people doesn’t have a way to get basic medical care, and each year 100 million people are pushed into extreme poverty by medical bills.
Donating you waqf to our healthcare projects ensures that you continue to help people with sickness and disease year after year.

When you donate £100 as a waqf share, it is invested in a Sharia-compliant way — usually in a low-risk property. Each year, 80% of the profits are allocated to healthcare projects, such as providing hospitals, medicines, surgeries, and medical equipment, while 10% is reinvested to increase future income, and 10% is used
In partnership with Human Appeal, which has over 30 years of experience in more than 25 countries, the waqf supports projects including: Mobile clinics for displaced people. Solar-powered health centres. Life-saving care for pregnant women and babies. Surgeries. Prosthetics for people with disabilities. Mental health support. Wheelchairs and mobility aids. Provision of medicines, medical supplies, and medical staff.
A £100 donation can generate £1,370.78 in profit over 100 years, which can provide medical care and medicines for 685 people — and your waqf continues to support healthcare beyond that.
Because globally, 3.6 million people die each year due to lack of access to basic medical care, and over 2 billion people lack access to essential medicines.
