The best gift is barakah every single day, forever

Is there a better gift to a loved one than blessings for eternity? It’s one thing to care about their dunya – it’s another thing entirely to care for their soul in the hereafter. Gifting a waqf, is gifting reward from Allah, year after year.

Since a waqf never expires, it’s a donation that generates reward, and impacts communities forever, when maintained by waqf experts, such as The Waqf Fund.

How does gifting a waqf work?

You select the cause you’d like to support, such as clean water or food assistance. You can donate any amount, and we pool it with other contributions to invest in halal assets, such as rental properties. Each year, we use only the profit generated from these investments to support your chosen cause. Don’t forget to select ‘In Honour Of’ at checkout and enter the name of the person you are dedicating this gift to.

Is gifting a waqf halal?

Absolutely. We’re encouraged to give gifts to celebrate Islamic events such as Eid, and there’s Islamic precedent and hard evidence that gifting a charity benefits the person you dedicate it to.

The most common reason Muslims gift a waqf is to send blessings to a loved one who has passed away, as the blessings of ongoing charity reach them even after they have passed, but you can also gift a waqf as a gift to celebrate Eid, a graduation or milestone, or even in the name of a new baby, providing them with blessings for their entire lives and beyond.

Will I also get blessings if I gift the waqf?

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “The one who guides others to something good will have a reward like that of the one who does it.” Muslim

Scholars generally agree that when you gift charity to another Muslim, you also receive reward for this act. May Allah accept the sincerity of our charity on behalf of our loved ones and reward us for this intention

What blessings will my loved one receive?

From the moment your charity begins to help others, your loved one will receive blessings, and will continue to year after year. In fact, their impact and blessings increase each year since your charity grows each year. How? We invest back 10% of the profit generated with our Sharia-compliant assets, ensuring increasing impact and reward.

When we give charity for others we seek Allah’s forgiveness for them, and pray that He wipes away their sins, grants them mercy in the hereafter, and increases their reward on the Day of Judgement.

Giving on behalf of vs giving in memory of

You can give a waqf on behalf of someone living or someone who has passed away. At checkout, select ‘give in honour of’ to gift a waqf to celebrate a special occasion, and select ‘give in memory of’ to gift to someone who has passed away.

Why Ongoing Charity Is a Unique Islamic Gift

Unlike many gifts that are enjoyed for a short time and then forgotten, ongoing charity continues to benefit people for years to come. Whether it helps provide clean water, food, education, or support for vulnerable communities, the impact of your gift lives on long after it is given. This makes sadaqah jariyah one of the most meaningful Islamic gifts you can offer to family members, friends, and loved ones.

The beauty of ongoing charity is that its rewards continue as long as people benefit from it. Every person who receives support, gains access to essential resources, or benefits from a charitable project becomes part of a chain of goodness that can continue for generations. By giving sadaqah jariyah in someone’s name, you are offering a gift that carries blessings far beyond the present moment.

More than a material present, it is an expression of sincere care for a person’s spiritual wellbeing. Whether given for Eid, a wedding, a graduation, the birth of a child, or simply as a heartfelt gesture, ongoing charity creates a lasting legacy of reward, benefit, and mercy that can continue in this life and the next.
